You must be strong Caleb, those rings of wood look pretty big.You are such a good helper and you were lucky to get the wood done before the rain came. Do you help chop the wood too? Or do you stack it?? I have been burning lots of wood to keep us all warm while we are at home. Have a great week Caleb I look forward to seeing some more of your fantastic learning. Ka Pai.
Hi Caleb. You have a pretty good stacking technique there! That means you have a good way to stack the wood in place. My son is home at the moment and he has been chopping lots of wood. I have stacked some but I just usually throw it on the trailer! It was a big storm wasn't it. Did you hear the hailstorms at your house? They were really noisy as the rattled on my windows. Can't wait to read your next post about what else you have been doing and learning. Mrs Phelps
Kia ora Caleb, It is so awesome to read about how helpful you were when your family needed to get more wood. Getting wood can be a very big job, especially when you have to load it onto a trailer and unload it into a wood shed! When I was a teenager, my family used to get a massive wood delivery before each winter. We would all go outside and help unload the wood, and I can remember a time when we tried to do it faster and created a human traffic line. One person would pick the wood up from the trailer and pass it to the next person, who would continue passing it on until the family member at the end stacked it onto our wood pile. Did you find any ways to make your wood collecting easier? Where did you get your wood from? Did you only have to load it onto the trailer, or did you have to load it off as well? It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know! I noticed how the trailer you used only has 2 sides. Does this mean that you were only able to stack the wood one piece high? I also noticed how big some of the wood pieces were. Were you able to carry them easily, or did you need help for some of the pieces? Overall, you have done a fantastic job with this blogpost! Nga mihi
hi thank you for the comment, it is a caged trailer we had the front and back open for it to be eaiser to get on the trailer Dad helped me load the bigger pieces then when we got home we split it all up and I helped stack it in the wood shed. I love helping with the wood.
Kia ora Caleb, It is so awesome to hear how much you enjoy helping out with the wood. There are not many chores around my house which I enjoy, but I always manage to try and swap around with my brother and sister so that I can do the jobs I like. My favourite jobs include doing the dishes, wiping the mirrors and vacuuming. Aside from the wood, what are some of your other favourite jobs to do to help out around the house and why? It is so cool how you can pull back both the front and back of the trailer. I can imagine how much easier this would make stacking wood, giving you easy access to the wood pieces at both the front and the back of the trailer. Are these doors that open easy to latch shut, or do you have a special lock which needs to be used? You mentioned how you and your dad split the wood once you got home. Were you allowed to help him split the wood? You also mentioned how you helped stack the wood into the shed as well. Was it hard to stack, and do you have any tips on how to stack wood perfectly? It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment (once again!) and let me know! Keep blogging Caleb, you’re doing a fantastic job! Nga mihi
